This is real wood. It has a light stain and no varnish, so it has that rustic farmhouse feel to it. The drawers don’t have tracks so they wobble when you pull them in and out, but I don’t plan to use them much. Perfect size for behind my couch. The assembly was a bit tricky. They provide self-tapping screws so there are no pilot holes. That means you have to line the pieces up perfectly while screwing in teh screw. Sometimes there is also a dowel in a predrilled hole making it easy to keep the wood in place while you get the screw in. Other times - esp the drawers - you have to hold the two pieces of wood carefully while you press hard to get the screw started. Also, some sections of the wood are softer and easy to get a screw through. Others are a bit harder. Other than assembly, I have no complaints. It’s a sturdy little table for the price.. Rachel. It’s beautiful, actual wood. I would have given it 5 stars but the back of one of the drawers is missing and the piece that goes in between the two back panels is missing. Beautiful, and this table is actually wood. Its 32 tall though, so we had to saw off the legs to make it 30, but it only took a few minutes to do and now its the perfect height for my chairs. This is a great solid wood dresser. The six drawers are large and roomy. It goes perfectly with the Farmhouse bed which I also purchased from Wayfair.
