This is a nice console table but definately not worth the money. At this price point I expected the 3 drawers to run smoothly on metal or plastic runners but they don't. There are no runners, instead there's a little piece of wood / plastic? in the middle that stops the drawers falling out completely but it's extremely wobbly. Not what you'd expect for an item that should be high quality. Other than the poor quality of the drawers it's a nice table though and it's not easy to find a table that is as narrow as this is. Marrying the functionality of a secretary desk with that of a traditional console, this Dieuwer Console is a portrait of country cottage chic. Dieuwer's pull out writing surfaces, lower shelf, and two bottom drawers prove it a master of both form and function, while a weathered oak finish makes Dieuwer absolutely timeless.

We really like the Solid Wood Console Table, but it was difficult to assemble. And the assembly instructions were not complete. It is not surprising that some people were unable to put in 2 of the 4 screws in the top. What worked for us was to put in the easier 2 first, but not tighten them until all the screws are in place. To reach the 2 difficult screws of the top, the pull-out wood "surfaces" must be removed from their tracks, and that is not easy to do. We put the table with the top and the sides held together by 2 screws on its back. There are little clips in the mechanism on either side of the boards; one clip must be pushed up (toward the table top) and the other clip pushed down. For ours, we pressed the left one up and the right on down in order to release the board from the tracks. It took 2 of us; one person lit the track with a flashlight and used a screwdriver to release the clip. The other person supported the table parts and pulled the board out as the clips were released. Once the boards were removed, the difficult screws could be put in place. Putting the bottom together was easier, but it was challenging to line up one of the screw holes. One of us used a flash light and a small hand held mirror to see into the hole while the other person moved the bottom as indicated, all while holding the drawer pulled out as far as possible. Once all 6 screws were in place, they were tightened. Replacing the boards in their tracks was also tricky. The right one had to be placed back in the right side of the table. It is a truly beautiful piece. Very large and sturdy. It was impressively shipped and delivered all in one piece. So the assembly was literally just getting it out of the box. I added black hardware to the front of the drawers to match the cabinets in my house. I was a little surprised by the wood color. It wasnt what I expected based on the product sample photos. It is still pretty. Just not well represented in the photos. My complaint is that the drawers arent secured with metal slider hardware. They have wood slats siding in and out of groves, so nothing stops them from sliding out when pulling them out too far. Which is a problem for my little kids.
