This Murphy Bed comes in several heavy boxes with a lot of pieces. So it's definitely my recommendation to hire a professional to put it together to save you time and to ensure the product is assembled properly with anchoring to the wall for security. I must say it came together beautifully and will fit our needs for additional modern style storage and sleep space when we have overnight guests. The material is somewhat sturdy manufactured wood which is only noticeable up close. The frame will definitely only fit a 10 inch mattress or less. We tried a 12 in and the main door will not close. As many have mentioned, it would have been great to have shelves inside the cabinet but if you're handy you can easily install some for more storage. I have been shopping around for a quality Murphy bed for quite some time and almost bought a $4000 model but I'm glad I was able to save once I found this one for a fraction of the cost. I am very disappointed in this Murphy bed. It was awful to put together. Many of the holes didnt line up. The screws were too short making it hard to close gaps between pieces. Some of the screws were already stripped out so we had to buy our own. The paint is splotchy and the quality is so cheap, just particle board that is already falling apart. Exactly what we wanted. It’s heavy and sturdy. The instructions are not great and there are a lot of pieces. Some steps require 2-3 people. We love the bed for its space saving design and material. It was very time consuming to assemble. The instructions were not clear on informing you that certain components had pre-drilled holes for items to be attached in future steps of assembly. The hardware came in bags with multiple items in them. We spent time separating the hardware into baggies with its identification Letter, however found we were short hardware to finish assembling wardrobe cabinet. This unit perfectly utilized a tiny 8x10 “bedroom” in my 126-year-old house. I use it as a multi-purpose guest room (for one) and craftoffice area. It’s super resourceful and space-saving which I love and wouldn’t have otherwise conceived would be possible given how tiny the room is. That being said It’s a great deal for what you get, but what you get is a fully occupied weekend for AT LEAST two people, and that’s if you’re familiar with assembling furniture, which I am. This was hands-down the most tedious and time-consuming piece I’ve ever assembled—however, I expected that to be the case and prepared myself for it. I would advise separating all the parts by step (hardware especially) beforehand to prevent stupid mistakes like using screws on step 37 that were meant to be used on step 13. Every detail matters. I am single but I can see how this project could potentially end in divorce. All in all, it’s a great piece for the money—just prepare yourself for not just hours, but DAYS of labor. Highly recommend for the patient DIY folks. The instructions aren’t great but they rarely are. Fortunately there are QR codes on each step which link to videos showing the guys in the factory assembling it. I love this Murphy bed! It was a labor of love to put together, but my husband and I did it over several days. It’s built very well. We were impressed at how well it was built.
