My Rinnai was installed in April 2025, during Spring in Alabama. During the Spring, Summer and Fall (through October) my gas bill has been reduced by 67%. Cost of hot water is so important to us because we use ALOT of hot water. With Winter coming I expect additional savings when compared to winters year over year. Hot water closest to our Rinnai is almost instantaneous. Our old water heater tank was located in the garage. and during the winter the hot water heater was constantly running to keep the water hot. We have set the Rinnai hot water at 140 degrees which is a big upgrade when compared to our old tank heater which was set at 125-130 degrees to save costs on gas which was never really hot enough for us. Rinnai direct vent wall furnaces must vent the flue gases to the outdoors. The flue manifold kit helps vent these gases through an exterior wall between 9-1/2 to 15-3/4 inches thick.

Does not run every time you use hot water like the old large water heater and you could hear the old style water heater heating the water every time you used hot water. I believe Dura Vent make excellent products. However when we opened this box full of parts to create a through the wall connection to both the stove pipe and exterior chimney, some pieces were missing and others were badly damaged. Damaged. So that leads me to believe from the condition of the box that FedEx chose to reconstruct the box and put everything they could find back in it. In the process of shipping it became damaged and thats the way we found it on our porch. After delivery. Wayfair refunded our money and suggested we donate what was left of the kit. We LOVE this thing! Best upgrade ever. We purchased a sufficiently rated countdown timer switch with intervals that seemed appropriate for a bathroom heater (Leviton DT102 15-30-1h-2h) and have been enjoying this heated mirror so much. A brief ON will defog the mirror, while 15 minutes ON (switching on a bit before getting into the shower) is long enough for it to heat up fully and make a huge difference when stepping OUT of the shower. 30mins is great for getting ready on a very cold morning. The mirror optics seem very clear and high quality. We did not do the installation ourselves, as it was put in during a whole house rewire the electricians opted to put in a recessed outlet box behind the mirror and just plug it in there, rather than hard wiring it. This will preserve flexibility going forward. Because it was going in a very particular place, and we have plaster rather than drywall, they opted to install cross pieces of plywood secured to the wall, and mounted the mirror to the wood strips. It’s very secure-feeling. My one negative point is the thing gets so warm that it’s not comfortable to lean my face close (bad eyesight) for putting on make-up. This is something that might require finessing your timing if it was your only mirror, or setting up a small well-lit mirror in another location.
