We needed a clock/thermometer combo for our patio that could be seen from the house (my husbands desk looks out on the patio) and be heavy enough that it wouldn't fly off when things get windy where we live. (We get micro-bursts as well as high MPH winds where we live...) I also wanted something good looking. This hit all the marks, was a great value for what it is, plus it has a Hygrometer, which tracks humidity. The back of the unit "key holes" sit down over the screw heads and the clock itself is weighty and broad. Between both of those features, I expect it will stay put even in the windiest conditions we get around here. The outdoor clock-thermometer arrived in good condition as scheduled. The instructions are confusing. The instructions indicate that the clock's hands need to be removed and replaced to remove and discard a packaging/security part. This was apparently done at the factory. The clock is keeping good time without any "assembly." The instructions about initializing the thermometer are not clear, but turning the knob on the back seems to perform the necessary function. The item is attractive and functions well so far. We are disappointed that the numbers are about the same color as the face. If they were a different color (like the hands) it would be easier to see the time. The scale on the thermometer is compact, and the numbers are the same color as the face. So, it is difficult to tell the difference between 30 and 40 degrees (for example). HAD WE KNOWN THESE THINGS FROM THE PRESENTATION ON THE WEB, WE WOULD HAVE SEARCHED FOR A BETTER CLOCK-THERMOMETER. These indoor/outdoor thermometer/clocks are exactly what we need for a new vinyl sided old house. I do wish the had a larger size like 24-36” diameter so you could actually see them from the distance. They are from Whitehall Products. Had an issue with the hands in one and they immediately shipped another “hands kit” which I was very impressed with.
