There are no handles, no visible breaks in the rhythm, nothing to interrupt the eye as it moves from one end of the unit to the other. I gave this TV stand a four star rating because it is not as tall as the ad says. It lacks about seven inches, and I would have preferred it taller. But it is solid wood so therefore a keeper.
