When I see something described as solid wood I expect the whole thing to be solid wood. The backing is flimsy MDF as are the drawer bottoms. The drawers are extremely delicate I would not purchase this unit to store anything. Assembly took 4 hours (with screw gun) and I’ve built a lot of furniture. There was an improperly constructed hole preventing one of the fasteners working to hold the top on (ultimately not necessary for function, luckily). I’m not a fan of MDF furniture and find most pieces are made of this material more and more. Finding this cabinet in solid wood at this price point was a winner! Ordered this in Oak along with the assembly that was completed last week. Solid wood cabinet that is beautiful and functional, and reasonably priced. This was fairly easy to put together, but I do have a lot of experience with this type of furniture with less than optimal directions. The only the problem I had was with getting the drawer slides lined up. I finally got the top drawer to go in and out, but I just can't get the bottom one. This could be due to me tightening all the bolts too early. The directions do say to tighten to seventy per cent, and I think I was too eager to get the thing put together. I could go through it and loosen everything.But i'm just not going to. The 2 drawers together are the same size as a file cabinet. So eventually i'm going to turn the two drawers into one drawer and just slide it in without any slider. Currently, the bottom drawer just slides in.Without dislider, since I removed them and I think it looks fine anyway. The wood is a nice quality and feels very solid. I wish the item came with little.Stickers to cover up where the bolts are but I can find those somewhere else. Overall, I'm really happy with the item and I can't wait for my light beige rug to come to make this item really stand out. It was packaged really well there wasn't a scratch anywhere. Super solid media center. It arrived in a ton of pieces. It took my husband about 3 hours to assemble. We placed this in our master for extra storage. The drawers are very shallow so I didn’t quite get a ton of extra clothing storage but it worked for accessories and other pieces.
