The chair is hand-carved out of solid Mahogany and finished in an extensive hand-applied stunning gold leaf. Another exclusive design and finish from our Heritage Collection, a collection of fine, handmade furniture in the purest of standards of age-old traditional crafting. Each piece is hand-carved, one piece at a time, by some of the world's best carvers. The special Mahogany wood comes from replanted forests. The selected wood has been kiln-dried. The item in its final form is stress and pressure-tested before finishing to ensure long-lasting stability, in most climates. Sold separately but often ordered in pairs. The chair comes fully assembled, a process of finer construction offering more stable seating.

I waited awhile few weeks to write this review. First I loved the look of the navy blue chairs. They were very well packaged. Nothing damaged. Assembly was a breeze. The back cushion is oh so plump and lets you sink in a little bit. Not too much. Perfect amount. The seat cushion is not as plush. I’m hoping it gets a bit less firm over time. It’s by no means hard. You sink in, but I wish it felt more like the back cushion. That would have been so much better. The cushions are zippered so I may add more filling later. The fabric is great, feels like it will last awhile. It’s not thin, it’s thick. Like a denim feel. As you can see the back of the chair is angled, it’s like a permanent reclining position with very deep seating. And that’s why I ordered it. But it’s not the best sitting position unless you have an ottoman. I’m trying to find the ottoman that they used to sell with this chair, but until then I’m adding a pillow behind my head to support my neck and keep it more upright. Otherwise it’s just not as comfortable as I feel it should be. It will be better after I add the ottoman. Overall it’s a great sturdy chair.
