If I was rating this on the hardware alone, I would give it 5 stars. If I had to rate just the installation instructions and tech support, it would get 2. But since once it's installed it's only the hardware that counts, I'm giving it a 4. The trickiest part of the install is using the template they give you, since it determines where the holes are drilled and getting everything to line-up. Unfortunately the instructions are just plain wrong on this, since they tell you to align the lowest horizontal line on the template with the 'notch' on the bracket (this makes more sense when you're actually doing it.) But looking at the template, it becomes apparent that those two things can't possibly line-up. And to add to the frustration, there's a 10 minutes video provided that shows the step-by-step assembly. However, when they get to drilling the holes, the template is already attached to the gate-- they completely skip-over how to position it! Another frustrating aspect is that when following the instructions, they differ depending upon whether you have a left- or right-hinged gate. But they never explain how that's determined. I even phoned for tech support when I ran into issues with the template and asked "Is it considered left-hinged if the hinges are on the left when the gate is opening towards you?" The tech support guy said "It doesn't matter whether it opens towards you or away from you-- it's whether you're inside or outside the fence." (The correct answer is that it's the side the hinges are on when you're facing the gate and it's opening towards you.) Overall I like this lock very much. We keep our gate locked since our dog is not stranger-friendly, and delivery people were always trying to use the gate. But if we didn't have the keys with us, we couldn't get through either. I also like that the isn't powered (no wiring to run or batteries to wear out), and the fact that the order you press the keys in doesn't matter is good, since we can, for instance, use the same code as our alarm panel (once less code to remember) but give someone else the code numbers in a different order, so they can open the gate, but not disarm the alarm with that code.. I do love the design of this gate. It’s so tall that my kitties can’t go over, around, through, or under. I even like the way it opens to let me go through, without having to negotiate a bottom rail to trip on. It locks securely and was easily assembled and carefully packed. It’s attractive and exceptionally useful. My only concerns: My doorway was not true. It apparently is a few millimeters wider near the top than bottom, so the center doesn’t meet the same way in the top as bottom. This is not the fault of the gate, so I did not deduct a star. My other concern is that there’s a lot of plastic parts. I wish all the components were made of metal. I needed a gate tall enough to stop my jumping pets without damaging my walls or making daily life harder. This 61" extra tall pet gate finally solved it. My cats can’t leap over it, and the 1.37" narrow spacing keeps even kittens from squeezing through. I installed it in under using the pressure bolts—no tools or drilling needed. When my hands are full of groceries or laundry, I can still open the gate easily with one hand. The auto-close feature gives me peace of mind, while the 90° stay-open mode makes moving through the house effortless. Strong, secure, and renter-friendly, it keeps my pets safe around stairs, kitchens, and off-limit rooms every day.

Luckily this works for us. But a word of caution for those who have crown molding, I didnt measure from there and we probably should of gotten something thats shorter in width. It comes with an 8 bar (about ~16.5), 3 bar (about ~6.5) and 2 bar (little less than~3.5) extensions so something to keep in mind if you have a spaces in between those measurements. Luckily we can just prop it up on the walls with the 8 bar, we were able to get it to fit snug with a piece of cardboard. So still works for us! Nice, quality gate. Seems very sturdy. Unfortunately, the gate arrived either cosmetic damage and missing parts. Manufacturer mailed replacement parts quickly. Wayfair was helpful in connecting us with Manufacturer to resolve issue. Frustrated that we will need to paint/seal this new gate due to its condition upon arrival.
