I am very happy with this hood. The quality of build seems solid, installation instructions were very clear, and it I think it looks great. It takes some planning and work to get it installed. You have to make sure your ceiling joists and ductwork is going the right direction or be prepared to do some modifications. I have a soffit and had to take down a bunch of drywall to modify the framing, run the 14/3 romex for the light/fan and modify the ducting. Then I replaced the drywall, taped, texture, paint and installed the hood. Fortunately it all came together nicely. I was able to held the hood in place while my wife drive the screws into the framing. I think it will be worth it in the end because the hood won’t be blocking the view in front of our cooktop.. This is a beautiful, sleek looking range hood. It has great features and is very well made. The convertible option is huge for those of us who don't currently have a vented hood. It is heavy but installation looks like it will be straight forward. My installation is delayed since I have to remove cabinets over the stove, find the backsplash tiles that current end at the bottom of the cabinet and continue it up before installing the hood. This is a work in progress. I’m so far very happy with the quality of this range hood. The look is what attracted me to it. I wanted something modern but not too common. I will need to follow up with more pics after is fully installed. It is quite heavy so I’m reinforcing my ceiling just to make sure it is very secure. It starts getting a little loud at the fourth setting. My one complaint would be the lights. They started out as being fairly bright but quickly faded to a very, very dim light...and we haven't mistakenly left the lights on or anything. Once we replace them with brand new light bulbs, hopefully they will remain bright for a longer period of time than these did. Installation was definitely a challenge; we had a few obstacles to overcome, but nothing we couldn't adapt to. I love my Proline 30 1000 CFM ducted wall mount range hood in brushed stainless steel. I have been a restaurant owner for 30 years and know the necessity of a good hood system. I havent been so lucky in my house. Ive only ever had an over the range microwave fan system. When our house flooded I had the opportunity to upgrade our kitchen and I jumped on getting a real hood for my range. It has been amazing! I absolutely love it, it has been installed for just over three months. I use it almost every single time I turn on my stove range. It is quiet enough for home use and extremely strong. It pulls all of the smoke, steam, and smell smells from the air efficiently, without sucking the air-conditioning out of the whole house. All in all we like the hood, but for the price there were some issue. For one, two sides of the column had a smoother brushed finish than the other two. Also, some small specs of rust have appeared on the finish. If I had to guess I would say some iron particles were left behind by the brushing process.
