The color is through and through and they look great after 3 years in the weather. I liked mine so much I requested another pair for Mother's day and I love them. For more comfort I paired them with the footrest/ ottoman. But you don't have to, I just prefer it. These will last for years and are worth it. Oh, and the cupholder is like icing on the cake! I bought 6 of these 5 years ago and they have held up incredibly well. I just bought 2 more to add to our firepit area and they look great. They do require some assembly but I found the instructions were good. The new design came with an optional cup holder to attach which is really nice. These are very nice chairs. They were pretty quick to assemble, as they weren't in a bunch of pieces. The box was very heavy, so be careful! They are quite comfortable, and have a wide seat.
