The first lampshade that came in was unfortunately broken— It wasnt packaged very well, so I wasnt entirely surprised — but I sent in a report and they immediately sent out a replacement which was in one piece! It is a bit wobbly when placed on a thick carpet, so if you plan to have it sitting out in the open, rhats something to be aware of. I have it behind my couch and it has been safe there. We are very pleased with these floor lamps though we feel they were a little on the pricey side when you consider the design. The construction is high quality and they are definitely not "flimsy". It is clear the cut manufacturing costs by having the electrical cord exit the base of the post as opposed to through the bottom of the base - which makes the view less "clean" but not a deal breaker. I wish they had photos of that when I was buying it. Easy to assemble, but the packaging is lacking and makes a mess when you unpackage the product for assembly.
