We were Inspired by Guastavino's exquisite tile arch when we create our Guastavino tile Collection; Guastavino was a Spanish architect and builder. Based on the Catalan vaults he created the Guastavino tile, a "Tile Arch System" patented in the United States in 1885 and used for constructing robust, self-supporting arches and architectural vaults using interlocking terracotta tiles and layers of mortar. Guastavino tile is found in some of New York's most prominent Beaux-Arts landmarks and in major buildings across the United States. It is used in a huge number of architecturally important and famous buildings with vaulted spaces. Guastavino was not the principal architect for most of the projects.

The tile is beautiful! But there seems to have been a packaging/delivery problem, many tiles were chipped on the corners and front edges and a few were broken. There were many other tiles that were chipped on the back side, but I can still use those. The ones I can't use added up to about 3/4 of a box.
