These are medium duty stair treads. This is my second purchase, the first set were used on my back stairs and have held up nicely for almost a year and a half and still perform and look good. I stapled them on the back stairs, but don't recommend doing that, the cheapo staples rusted. Stair treads are amazing! I have them outside in our Catio I put them on top of some sandpaper stair steps with yellow trim. I left the yellow trim, picking out and place the outdoor stair-steppers on wood They came in a box flat, not rolled Excellent quality I have the charcoal They have some cush to them There is no sticky stuff on the back so I staple them to the wood, staples were silver I just put a little magic marker that’s black colored the staples and it looks perfect Best part my cat loves them.. Great quality and a rich design! I recently had my hardwood steps resealed and wanted to cover the flaws. These treads are durable and visually appealing. I have two cats, who are constantly chasing each other up and down the stairs and thus far (a few days) these treads have stayed in place. Love the look and feel of these stair tread mats but wish they didnt move around as much as they do. I bought these because my dog is aging and keeps sliding and slipping as she goes up and down the stairs. These carpet treads help her with her grip and are particularly helpful when it is raining. However, when our parents come over we remove them because they do slide around and I would hate for them to slip and fall. I was looking for anti-slip treads that I didn't have to use adhesive on and these were a clear winner. They do have a bit of a funky chemical smell right out of the package because they are rubberized, but it dissipated within a day.
