Personally, I charge it when I go to bed and its fully charged and ready to go the following morning. You could also charge it during the day to ensure a fully charged battery at night. It was delivered professionally and quickly. There was no assembly needed, only a bit of a charge for many hours of enjoyment on the first night. Ill be using this to light the back deck by my hot tub as well. Update 425 After the holidays, this lamp got a nice rest. After charging overnight to use outdoors, the lamp shut off within 20 minutes.
