These came compact and rolled up. They expanded very quickly even though it did say it could take up to 24 hours. The covers were separate and went on easily. These are really nice cushions! I am using them for a rec room sofa indoors and chose them because the price was great and they will be easy to clean. They arrived already "inflated", not vacuum packed, so I didn't have to wait for the cushions to expand. They are a perfect fit and look great on our sofa!
