I bought these to help reduce the wind that we get on our deck. We have them attached to the railings. Last year we had to chase our furniture a few times during our wind storms but not this year. They worked very well as a wind break. They definitely had to be secured well to keep them in place. They look very nice and add to the look of our deck instead of taking away. Space between slats provides efficient airflow and included spacers help with the perfect placement of slats. The real wood, water-based stain panel design gives this privacy screen a stylish look in any yard. We recommend applying a stain every 6 months to maintain optimal color. Transparent or semi-transparent exterior stains will maintain the natural wood look, while solid stains will cover more of the natural wood grain. If the product goes longer than recommended without staining, it will need to be sanded and may require a semi-solid or solid stain. Our powder-coated aluminum posts prevent rusting and provide stability to your screen. This screen is no-dig and very easy to install without tearing up your yard or leaving large holes behind.

Beautiful panels, they make a super stylish setup. I purchased 6 of them for my deck, they arrived w/o scratches or hits on 2 per box arrangement, very well packaged. Now, these panels are made of some sort of wood, it is hard but easy to drill on, I used a 1/8th countersink bit with a tapper and fixed them to the side of my deck using #8 x 1 1/2" construction screws. They are about 3/8" thick, so I added a 0.665 x 1" vinyl strip behind it, to make it flush with the siding of the decking material which is 1". I also added some black landscape fabric behind to give the depth of the openings on the design and prevent bugs from entering. The result is a very unique deck which we love. Instructions say that the wood will age to gray naturally, I like it dark brown as it is, so I'll be adding some matte clear coat to prevent the aging process.
