Amazing...I grappled with buying these columns for 2 years, because of the non-refundable policy, so I had to be sure. I have a small porch so I knew I couldnt get the columns to wide or the proportions would look odd. So I used makeshift cardboard and the like to determine what to buy...I made the best decision with the 5.63 width columns they look amazing. My contractor bought 5 wood post from our local big box store and used brackets to install them on the porch. He used his nail gun to fasten each wrap to the wood post, he said it was rather simple to install. Next he caulked all the small nail gun holes and painted ( per instructions for winter protection) looks amazing. The top and bottom mounts are used when a railing kit is cut into two sections to fit between existing posts and can be secured into many types of posts or walls. Fasteners are included for attaching the mounts to wood, metal, or concrete structures. A solid mounting surface is required. This add-on kit is only required when the baluster kit is cut into two separate sections.
