It went together fairly easily by my husband who is quite handy - I would not have been able to do it myself as there were MANY parts to deal with. What a comfortable chair! Black pulled loop upholstery. Four pieces to be easily assembled. Cushioned arms , seat and back. Beautiful wood accented exposed frame on sides. It is recommended to tighten screws every so often or with a lot of use. I got it together myself and it feels sturdy. Four non skid rubber knobs screw on to each foot for floor protection.
