It lays fairly flat, but you’ll definitely want a rug pad or some heavier furniture on it to keep it from sliding around. Saw it in the Wayfair store and purchased online and on sale. Came quickly. Very soft to the touch and lays flat. The pattern is printed on but it doesn’t bother me and looks great. Love this rug. It looks little different from the listing picture, but it’s still beautiful. I got a thick rug pad and that made a huge difference. I especially like the detail.
