I have had other similar beds where the drawers are made of plastic. I am glad that I paid someone to install it because it took a pro more than an hour. We had to rework a hinge that came installed backwards and realign the pieces that hold the headboard up, but otherwise the assembly process was simple with detailed diagram instructions. We were looking for a simple storage bed without a headboard and this has worked out wonderfully! The drawers look small but hold all of our bed linens — sheets, extra comforters, and blankets. I can’t speak to how the assembly process was because we had the service do it, but it has been perfect for our needs. It looks great in our room and feels very stable. We also use a bunkie board underneath our mattress because we have a sleep number mattress and we wanted the extra support beyond the slats (spaced too far apart for a sleep number mattress).
