Well for over a thousand dollars some of the build could have used a little more quality control Some missed glued parts ,some of the fixtures like the the figure head on the bow the casting quality was shoddy and not the proper figure head either, the ships hull looks good the rigging is fair it is not the same stern design as in the movie although I understand they used a close version of her the actual movie ship was called the Rose. H.M.S. Surprise has become famous as the 18th-century tall ship portrayed in the movie 'Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World,' starring Russell Crowe. The ship used in the Academy Award-winning film is actually a modern tall ship ' a magnificent replica of a 24-gun Royal Navy frigate. The Surprise was painstakingly re-created to look like a vessel from the Revolutionary War Era. The replica ship was christened H.M.S. Rose when launched in 1970 in Nova Scotia, and for more than 30 years it served as a sail-training vessel, primarily along the East Coast. In the movie, a fictional British frigate named the Surprise and a much larger French warship, the Acheron, stalk each other off of the coast of South America. The movie, directed by Peter Weir, was based on a book by author Patrick OBrian. After the movie, the ship's name was officially changed from the Rose to the Surprise. Today, H.M.S. Surprise resides dockside at the San Diego Maritime Museum and is still seaworthy.

This is a great model of Seguin tug boat. It was all handmade by strips of mahogany and teak. All built plank on frame. Look at all the amazing details on the windows and deck area. All the little pieces of wood are glued together in tremendous amount of time. The masts and the smoke stack and the lower portion of the hull are painted in the original colors. It has a shiny finish that make this model looks very beautiful. The craftsmen must have spent over a hundred hours with this.

Horatio Nelson's flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Nelson was shot and killed during the battle. H.M.S. Victory is the oldest naval ship still in commission. It has been restored and rests in dry docks at Portsmouth, England. The ship in Portsmouth is the sixth ship with the name Victory in the Royal Navy. There has been great interest in the fifth Victory ship, which was built 15 years earlier and whose wreckage was found recently by Odyssey Marine Exploration.

A great item for the Pirate of the Caribbean movie fans! This is a small model of the Black Pearl; originally Wicked Wench is Captain Jack Sparrow’s pirate ship. In the three movies (Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Mans Chest, and At Worlds End) she either overtakes or flees all other ships, including the Interceptor (regarded as the fastest ship in the Caribbean) and the Flying Dutchman (which is actually faster against the wind). Her speed is derived from a large amount of sails she carries. She is noted in At Worlds End as being "The only ship as what (which) can outrun the Flying Dutchman.” Our Black Pearl model features coated black paint, plank on frame, cannons, bowsprit, masts, rigging, and lines painstakingly knotted and fastened by hand. The San Felipe was one of the most beautiful Spanish ships in the 1600s. Launched in 1690, it had 96 cannons and was the lead ship of the feared Spanish Armada. It was powerful enough to go up against the most formidable ships in the French and British navies. In 1705, the San Felipe and 11 other Spanish ships waged a furious and heroic battle against 35 British ships. After 24 hours of fighting, the San Felipe was captured but was so badly damaged that it could not be salvaged as a prize. It sank with several tons of gold.
