Assembly wasn’t too hard to understand like others are making it seem, just gotta use your brain. The hardest part was fitting into tight corners to tighten some of the camber bolts and whatnot. I was looking forward to receiving my Murphy bed, cabinet, desk combo. The item came in 5 large heavy boxes. When the Fed Ex driver arrived the one box was completely smashed and open so the parts proceeded to fall out in my driveway. Things got scratched, dinged up and one piece got broke in half. I called customer service about the issue. They were quick about offering to send me a new combo unit. The only thing is the hassle to return the other one. Now mind you they are providing labels and arranged for the pick up. So the box that was smashed is not able to be used to return any parts. So now I have to unpack the box when it arrives and repack it with the damaged parts. Kind of took my excitement away about receiving the item. Disappointed in the packaging of my combo unit. I'm very happy with this bed. It slides away and unfolds very easily. It took a long time to put together, but the instructions were very clear and every piece lined up perfectly. It’s a big piece of heavy furniture and it’s perfect. Assembly was pretty straightforward and feels over engineered. The mattress that comes with it is quite thin but that’s based on my preference ! We absolutely love our Mandujano Murphy Bed in the Barnwood finish. After downsizing, we needed our larger office to double as a guest room, and this bed is perfect. It’s solid wood, extremely well built, and the design is brilliant — when folded up, it looks like a beautiful chest of drawers, and the bottom drawer is a real storage drawer that holds pillows, sheets, and a blanket. We bought the matching mattress thinking we might upgrade it later, but it’s genuinely comfortable. When our twin sons were visiting, one son slept on it with a plush topper and liked it so much he stayed in the Murphy bed even after the guest room became available when his brother departed. The Barnwood color blends perfectly with my wife’s Italian furniture, and the stowed design leaves room for a wall‑mounted TV above it.
