I like the look of it and the veneers look realistic. There are lots of pieces so don't plan on it being a quick build. I did on my own with no assistance. Pretty good instructions -- I did miss the strip that covers the seem of the 2 flimsy panels that go across the back of the lower cabinet so watch for that. There are no extra screws/fasteners so keep track of your parts. I found it odd that there were no covers for the shelf screws that are very visible, so I covered them with small brown felt chair leg pads. Brown contact paper would be better.. Jayne. Columbus, OH. Overall, this is very pretty. Had some trouble with one of the feet not being as sturdy as I feel it should be. We are using this as shoe storage in our master closet - it fits nicely under the area with a top hanging clothes rack - we have built ins but needed a little more shoe storage- I like the sturdiness of the real wood and the ability to adjust each shelf height - it really matches our built ins and gives us some extra storage without the costs of of having more custom build ins made- assembly was involved but came with everything we needed except the tools and were easy to follow.
