The shelves feel strong enough for decor, books, and heavier accent pieces. It looks more expensive than it is and fits nicely in a modern or neutral space. Only small note it helps to have a second person to hold pieces steady during a couple of steps, but it’s totally doable solo. I'm impressed with this bookcase. The wood is higher quality than I expected, and it was not too hard to put together. It is a very nice-looking piece of furniture. It looks great in my son’s room, and it fits his books well. My only complaints are that the thin back panel was just slightly too small, so it was tricky to nail into place, and the anti-tip system was not well-designed. The instructions showed it screwed into the fiberboard back panel, which would not be strong enough to prevent it tipping over. I used my own earthquake proofing anti-tip kit, and it worked fine.. It's very easy to install on the wall. There are two ways to install it: 1. Install the paper holder by using glue - takes less than 3 minutes. 2. Install it with screws.
