Pretty nice looking boxes. Nothing super spectacular, but nice. They were packaged pretty well, except there should have been some padding between the latch of the small box and the inside of the larger box. The latch on the small box punctured the inside of the larger box in shipping. It's not a big enough deal to me to get them replaced, but something to note. Hopefully that's not the norm. I had order a beautiful cactus themed clay bowl from Studio A before and it was/is awesome, but this was a little on the less high end side. The craftsmanship was a little lacking in the closing mechanism and there were some scratches on the back that didn't add character; they were just scratches. Wow! I love these…but I had no idea they were painted or printed wood (the multicolored all over design); I honestly thought the colored design was fabric and that these were fabric covered boxes! They look like fabric in the pics online, and even in person. It wasn’t until I got them and removed them from the great and careful packaging that I touched them and was shocked that they were all wood. Even better, i thought, because they won’t get pilled or snag over time like fabric would. I also wasn’t expecting them to be so BIG! I mean, I saw the measurements, but the larger one is so much bigger then I imagined it would be…this isn’t necessarily a problem per se, but it does mean that I’ll have to find a different use for the larger one then I planned, which is fine. Lovely decorative box! First, please note that this box is plastic, or at least resin-coated. I was disappointed at first as I was expecting a thin marble/shell veneer. The box sides can pass for this, but the top is more clearly a single sheet/pattern. This is clear now in the product info, but it wasn’t the impression I had when I first signed up to be notified when this was back in stock. One other small difference is that the inside is black, not a dark wood. It’s easy to open and close. One reviewer mentioned the top was hinged, but it is not. It is a lid that just lifts off. Overall, I love this for the receipts and business cards that seem to collect on my entry table.
