This tarp works great to filter our hot and very bright Arizona sun. We have to very large German Shepards dogs that have a huge pen where they like to relax and play during the day. Half of their pen is shaded with heavy duty tarp. During the hot sunny days they lose half their space. We installed tis tarp on the other half and it works great as an additional shaded area for our furry kids. It really does cut down te heat considerably. This tarp will work for just about any area you want shaded. I wish all our 5 acres were covered in this material. I received these shade cloths in exchange for an honest review. I selected them to go over a hoop frame, which I purchased from on Wayfair. Measure carefully! I thought I put in the right measurements for the hoop to have one cloth fit it well but I did not take some of the width into account. I had to use the other shade cloth, selected for another area, to complete the hoop. The grommets seem good quality and it’s already been through one monsoon storm.
