Oh my! Everything about this mirror was a great surprise. First, it really lights up, and even has THREE choices for the light! It also folds up so I can take it FLAT in a suitcase with me when I travel AND came with a lovely, soft bag to store it in to protect it. You can switch from regular to close up viewing by simply rotating the stand from one side to the other, and it looks pretty sturdy to me, so I'm not afraid overuse will cause it to snap or rust up or anything.
