I was on the fence about this protector before receiving. I have always used a mattress pad, but with my new mattress I was sleeping consistently hotter than usual. Well I called where I purchased my mattress and they explained most pads are made with fiber fill and that retains heat not allowing the mattress to breath. So I researched my mattress brand and got same answers. I found the Tempur Breeze protector to be the most mentioned. Yes the price did scare me I had just spent quite a bit on the mattress and now another 300. Well I did it and do not regret one minute. I sleep cooler and more comfortable. And yes it is water proof I tested it to see. Love this protector, with it being an encasement one it makes it easy to wash. As the top is the only thing you have to take off. You unzip the top take it off throw it in the wash and then when it’s done being launder you zip it back on. You don’t have to struggle with it like you had to with the old encasement protectors..
