Assembly guides today seem to me to be a bit of poorly translated English. This lamp exceeded my expectations as soon as I opened the box! Right away, I noticed the shade was oval instead of the typical round. I did not notice that when I was making the purchase. The body of the lamp looks like real wood and metal, even though if you touch it, you can then tell it is not real.
