It's genuine wood and genuine leather, low slung and very comfortable for extended reading sessions. Cons - the packaging is extremely rudimentary (zero cushioning inside the box) and the first chair arrived with the front right leg completely broken. I love this chair. It is very comfortable with soft leather upholstery and smooth, wooden armrests. The aesthetics are on point as well. The metal frame is really attractive on its own. If I didn’t enjoy the comfort of the back pad, I would leave it off just because I love the look of the metal frame. The back Support leans backward for comfort which is a distinction that makes this chair a lounger. I put it in the bedroom and plan to use it as my reading spot. There’s a lot to love about this leather lounger. They’re also some relatively small problems. To start, whomever did the instruction illustrations has a problem with perspective. You can figure assembly out, but logic is a better predictor of success than those instructions. The legs taper to a fairly small point. They put some tiny rubber pads on the ends of the legs, but they’re really inadequate to protect your hardwood floors or carpet. So you’ll need some kind of rubber end-caps or floor protectors.
