We have a "Florida basement" storage room in our modern organic coastal home that needed a light. This was perfect, nice (not cheap) quality and a little fun. When lit, the warm brown weave creates a neat little pattern across the ceiling. As some have mentioned, you will need to be directly under the fan to feel it but it does move air surprisingly well. This is perfect for us because I sometimes hang wet clothes on a drying rack or do some ironing in the center of the room. Decent fan for the price. Instructions were very basic without a great deal of detail. Had to do some research on the web to clarify wiring questions. But, all in all, assembly was not difficult and the fan seems to be quiet and has several speed andlighting modes. Remote is useful. Tips: 1. If your outlet has red, black, and white wires, only the black and white are connected to fan; cap the red with a wire nut. 2. Green and yellow wire on bracket connects to ground. 3. You may need to replace two existing screws on motor with longer screws in order to secure the ceiling cover. 4. A flat screw driver set is very helpful in securing those two screws because the space between the cover and motor housing is tight. 5. Some bolt holes were too small for the bolts supplied. I got this as an open box item and it was in perfect new condition! The instructions weren’t as clear, so I found a YouTube video of a similar fan. When attaching the blade part, make sure to turn the piece COUNTER CLOCKWISE to tighten instead of the usual clockwise. The fan works well. I was surprised that the wall switch is powered by batteries rather than being wired in. While that may be a benefit for some people, it required a second hole to be made in my wall. On top of that, my workman didn't consider the placement of the switch as esthetically as I would have preferred when he cut the hole for it. Beautiful quiet fan. Looks amazing. Light ring directions adjustable just like description. Only beef would be the remote is confusing for changing light brightness and color. Light is fairly bright but not as blinding as I had hoped for our room. Light seems to default back to a 4000k color rather than a slightly warmer 3500k for a bedroom. Overall super happy though..
