I purchased these for the living room thinking. I was going to go more Polynesian in my second home when I got new furniture. That didn’t happen so I put them in the bedroom. They’re fine there but I will probably eventually change them out since they are not the best with this furniture either. They were a great price. They were packed well but did have a flaw on one side. It wasn’t bad enough to send back. I just turned it toward the wall. No biggie. I love these lamps. I am not a "modern" furniture lover, but these go great in my transitional house. I wanted bedside lamps that were high enought to give off enough light to read by as I read every night. There is a shorter version but I tried out another lamp I had the same size and found it was not tall enough to read by. Lamps were exactly what I wanted. I was replacing a lamp I broke while moving around the end table I had it sitting on. (Lamp base was glass, so it shattered everywhere) the lamp shade was salvageable but couldnt find a base.
