I bought this bed specifically for the storage underneath and the drawers are tiny. It's very deceiving. They might hold a few pairs of socks and underwear and they also aren't on a track, so they just slide around. If this bed ain't take hours to put together I'd return. I was looking forward to receiving my Murphy bed, cabinet, desk combo. The item came in 5 large heavy boxes. When the Fed Ex driver arrived the one box was completely smashed and open so the parts proceeded to fall out in my driveway. Things got scratched, dinged up and one piece got broke in half. I called customer service about the issue. They were quick about offering to send me a new combo unit. The only thing is the hassle to return the other one. Now mind you they are providing labels and arranged for the pick up. So the box that was smashed is not able to be used to return any parts. So now I have to unpack the box when it arrives and repack it with the damaged parts. Kind of took my excitement away about receiving the item. Disappointed in the packaging of my combo unit. This unit perfectly utilized a tiny 8x10 “bedroom” in my 126-year-old house. I use it as a multi-purpose guest room (for one) and craftoffice area. It’s super resourceful and space-saving which I love and wouldn’t have otherwise conceived would be possible given how tiny the room is. That being said It’s a great deal for what you get, but what you get is a fully occupied weekend for AT LEAST two people, and that’s if you’re familiar with assembling furniture, which I am. This was hands-down the most tedious and time-consuming piece I’ve ever assembled—however, I expected that to be the case and prepared myself for it. I would advise separating all the parts by step (hardware especially) beforehand to prevent stupid mistakes like using screws on step 37 that were meant to be used on step 13. Every detail matters. I am single but I can see how this project could potentially end in divorce. All in all, it’s a great piece for the money—just prepare yourself for not just hours, but DAYS of labor. Highly recommend for the patient DIY folks. The instructions aren’t great but they rarely are. Fortunately there are QR codes on each step which link to videos showing the guys in the factory assembling it. Unfortunately the build quality and design isn’t effective. The rails and tracks that allow the bed to rotate from a desk to a bed are too weak to hold the weight of the structure. Causing the rails to come apart. I reached out to Wayfair who quickly provided replacement parts, but those parts failed as well. Looks like a design flaw. Too bad because it looked like a cool bed. This Murphy Bed comes in several heavy boxes with a lot of pieces. So it's definitely my recommendation to hire a professional to put it together to save you time and to ensure the product is assembled properly with anchoring to the wall for security. I must say it came together beautifully and will fit our needs for additional modern style storage and sleep space when we have overnight guests. The material is somewhat sturdy manufactured wood which is only noticeable up close. The frame will definitely only fit a 10 inch mattress or less. We tried a 12 in and the main door will not close. As many have mentioned, it would have been great to have shelves inside the cabinet but if you're handy you can easily install some for more storage. I have been shopping around for a quality Murphy bed for quite some time and almost bought a $4000 model but I'm glad I was able to save once I found this one for a fraction of the cost.
