I just replaced my previously purchased Kwikset lock due to internal failure of the Cylinder lock. The cast area of cylinder retention (Snap ring Groove) in the Chassis failed and the Cylinder lock fell out when the key was removed. No external damage to the cylinder lock or Chassis was noted. The lock lasted 8 years installed with daily use. I believe this was a one-off manufacturing material failure so I replaced it with the same model.
