I loved the look of this cabinet/table when I saw it. It was just what I was looking for; a table that converts into a small cabinet when not needed as a table. There were no reviews which made me nervous initially to make the purchase but I took a chance and I'm glad I did. The table came in two boxes and was very well packaged. I was very impressed as I unboxed it and laid out the parts. Everything was well labeled and all pieces were present along with extras. It took my husband and I a little over 6 hours to assemble it. I would have easily given it 5 stars except for a few cons to this beautifully designed cabinet/table. Cons: It comes with lighting in the glassed storage shelving and electrical outlet on the side of the cabinet. These were not necessary. They ended up making the unit messy with cords and cables. I'm using it as a desk so you rarely see or need the cabinet lighting. The lighting is also powered by plugging it into the USB port on the desk. It's just not necessary. Secondly, the unit sits very flush to the floor. It was probably not intended to be on an area rug like I have it so I can't put it flush to the wall and the shelf drawer drags when I open it to access the inside. I received the kitchen island with extendable dining table which had a few challenges during assembly. One of the board was not milled with the cut outs to fit the other piece together. I contacted customer service and they contacted the manufacturer. The manufacturer sent the correct piece which took about a week to receive. During assembly, there were some areas where the pre-made holes for the screws were not lined up and required some drilling to correct. Once the island was assembled, it looked great and was sturdy. Behind the two doors is an adjustable shelf with ample storage and the drawer is wide and roomy. There is a towel rack at the end of the island and the extendable table pulls out easily and provides enough room for two adults to sit. I love the fluted wood design and the gold fixtures stands out nicely from the white.
