I absolutely love this solid real wood island! You can't beat the price. Well it is real wood, it is a lighter wood. I did have a few small pieces with some splintering defects because of this, but nothing a little wood glue can't fix. Other than that, I didn't have any issues with assembly like what other reviewers noted. I found assembly to be rather easy. The pieces were all numbered, but a lot of the numbers had fallen off in the box or elsewhere. This wasn't a big deal as the instructions have good pictures and I was able to figure out which pieces correlated with which numbers. It’s a substantial piece of furniture. I like the color and I like the dimensions. I wish that it had come in one piece and not had to be put together, but I’m sure it was too big to ship. My only other qualm is the drawers… They’re not soft close and you have to push them in and then give them another hard push to get them to close completely.
