Because it is literally 2 identical pieces you then secure together, I've decided to use it in 2 halves instead of one long piece. What a great option for my needs in this little room! I also decided not to affix the doors and use the open space instead. Someone else had said in an earlier review that they did this, and I thought it was a great idea and opted to do the same.
