The bed went together fairly easily, even with one person! For a few of the steps, I had it leaning on the wall with a blanket for extra protection, but the pieces went together smoothly with little extra effort. The most time consuming part was simply attaching the bed slats, which was quick with a drill. We are pretty happy with the platform bed. Very protected in the box. The instructions were only pics, which was easy to understand.
