I have had other similar beds where the drawers are made of plastic. I am glad that I paid someone to install it because it took a pro more than an hour. Something to think about when considering whether to pay the $86 for someone to come assemble it for you. The drawers slide gently and align perfectly. They are lined inside with the sturdy pressed wood material and reinforced on the bottom to hold weight. They aren’t wire cages as I have seen in other drawer beds.
