There are a couple of things to be aware of: 1) Although easy to do, there are many pieces to assemble, so count on maybe 2-3 hours of time to fully assemble the desk, hutch and all of the drawers. 2) Given the type of coated particle board construction that is used, there were some small blemishes on corners/ends of a few of the pieces. Looks great! It’s very sturdy. The black looks really nice. Took my husband two hours to put together but he wasn’t rushing. The drawers open smoothly but they do make slight sound as it sort of scrapes along the metal. The drawers don’t have stoppers so COULD fall on toes BUT they’re so deep that I can’t imagine that happening. We do plan to remedy that in some way because it for our 7yo son, but not necessary for older kids or adults. chair opening is very large which makes it nice for widercrossed-legged chairs. Tiny college bedroom so this L-shaped desk was small enough to fit in and still add some style and charm. Putting it together was pretty straightforward thanks to someone to assemble it from Wayfair. I changed the hardware to a warm, modern gold tone to match the dresser I also bought from Wayfair. My biggest problem was FedEx misplacing all my orders and they were awful.
