The bed looks great (as pictured) and is very sturdy (as my toddler and her friends constantly jump on it). I bought a 7 inch mattress for the trundle and it fits perfectly. I bought a 12 inch mattress for the top and it also fits, but a 10 inch might have been better. When I received it and put it together it had a big stain on the headboard. Not sure what it is but it looks soiled. I called Wayfair and they gave me a portion of my money back. I was happy with that because the stain remover that I had to buy was costly. I used it and it worked to a point. The stain wasn’t as dark. I could use pillows to cover it.
