These stools look just like the picture. Imagine my disappointment when I came home and I found 3 flat boxes sitting on my pouch. Did not realize they were build yourself. I have 2 done, takes me about 2 hrs.+ each. I,m a 65 yr. old woman with very little strength in my hands. I need to find someone who can readjust the cross bars as I cannot get them totally tightened. They are separating from the base. Pros: The chairs look good. The back edges are stitched. I'll preface this by saying "I fully expect these to be trashed within a few years, as I have a busy kitchen and a three year old". I purchased a less expensive version, fully expecting to have to replace when the kids are older. Edit 2/13/2026. We've now had these just under 6 years. While I started my first review with an expectation of these being absolutely trashed in a couple years, I am thrilled to report that I was wrong. They're holding up great to a now 8 and 4 year olds daily meals. The kids also like to use these stools as stepladders to get cereal, bread, etc out of the upper cabinets.
