The only downside was the instruction manual—I didn’t find it very helpful. In my opinion, the dog house is simple enough that it can be assembled without relying much on the instructions. Love this little cathouse! My husband and I built a deck to elevate the house for our two stray cats. They haven’t gone inside yet, but have been up on the deck to eat and check out the house. This is advertised as an insulated dog house. I find it odd that it is not insulated on the base where the dog lays. I will rig something up so that she will be protected where she lays. This went together ok. The insulation panels, without something to cover them I can see a cat digging at them and tearing them apart. I've had this together and outside for a few months now...cats aren't using it yet but it's holding up in the weather pretty well. I didn't install the hydraulic arm...the directions weren't super clear on that and the tension in the arm was just too much for me to want to deal with. But that's a me problem I reckon.. Mary.
