This is a great bed. It was time-consuming to assemble but not hard or confusing. I love the stairs as opposed to a ladder because it’s much safer, and it also has the additional storage underneath the stairs. The desk is a good size and there are many outlets available for all different cords. The LED lights are really fun and they’re bright, but they do not stick very well, and I had to use almost all of the Velcro straps in order to secure the lights all around the bed. We are very happy with this loft bed. It looks beautiful, feels sturdy, and has really helped maximize the space in my daughter’s room. She now has plenty of room underneath for studying, doing her makeup, and storage. The only issue was the ladder. The steps are narrow and hard on bare feet, and the included pads would roll and didn’t provide enough cushioning. We solved this by adding foam padding around each rung and covering it with soft material. It made a huge difference and the ladder is now much more comfortable to use. The desk area is much larger than I expected, which is perfect. Also, the little shelves in the corner of the desk are a nice accent. I do feel like the directions are fairly easy to understand, and it was not hard to put together. My only complaint for which I took a star off is the squeakiness. It does squeak a bit when it is used, whether somebody's turning over in bed or climbing the ladder. Some small padded spacers might help with that squeak where it is metal on metal. This bed took me a long time to assemble because it has so. many. parts. The instructions are fairly straightforward except for the step where you have to figure out on which side you want ladder. Its unclear if the diagram is showing you a right or left setup and the call-out telling you how to position one of the legs to make it right or left is confusing. Otherwise its good quality and *seems* sturdy. I like that the ladder rungs have some ridges on them so your feet wont slide, and that the sides are tall enough for a 8 inch mattress. The instructions of installment is very clear, which makes less than 1 hour to assemble it with my husband.
