The Northair 1.8 Cu.Ft. Low Temperature Freezer offers compact frozen storage in a space-saving design. Ideal as a backup freezer or a dedicated unit for Dippin’ Dots, frozen seafood, and specialty frozen items, it fits easily in homes, garages, RVs, and other small spaces. Its compact size makes it a practical choice for flexible everyday use.

So we like and dont like this freezer. It was the most affordable ULT freezer we could find and got right down to -40, which is what we needed it for. However, when we get a power surge, even though the freezer is plugged into a surge protector, the compressor doesnt kick back on as the freezer starts to get warmer. Twice since buying it in early July we have had power surges and the power flickers in the house for a single second and comes right back on. Like even the clocks around the house (like on the microwave) dont reset like they do in a full outage. The freezer stays programmed at the temp we set, which is -40, but the compressor doesnt turn on so it heats up and destroys the food. Weve lost 400 in food so far. You have to physically unplug the freezer and replug it in to reset the compressor. This Freezer/Fridge was very much something for a big family's needs. Setup: It was the easiest setup of any appliance I've ever had. Frigidaire Chest freezer was already preassembled. The only thing is having the casters installed at the bottom of the freezer with is optional. Caster comes with brakes and glide very easily if you plan on moving it around to access the drain plug. Controls & Settings: Once the casters were on, the chest freezer was ready to use. To power it on and off, you just need to plug in the power outlet and unplug it when turning it off. There is a temperature control panel. It comes with an option from freezer to fridge and vice versa. Also, the temperature can be set in C or F. It also comes with a Freezer Boost option. The temp panel has an option to be Lock and unlock option. Defrosting Option: The chest can be defrosted very easily. Once you turn off the freezer, you can scrape off the frost with the provided scraper. Once completely defrosted, we can unplug the rubber plug and drain the excess water out. Even though it says it takes 4 hours to complete functioning and cooling. But I found it takes more than 8 hours for the freezer to be up and running. The chest came with 2 baskets that can be slid easily. If you have kids, and just for safety, it also comes with a key to lock the chest freezer. So far, we are enjoying this new appliance added to our garage, and I would definitely recommend others to invest in this if you are a food lover, have a big family, or entertain family and friends a lot.. 15163049641.
