You can start to hear it at about level 3 but still very low and steady so is great for sleep. It was hard to install. This shade was a great replacement for the old, yellow one that broke. It features a soft, bright matte white finish. Although it comes with a cap equipped with two holes for pull chains, only the center chain is functional because the opening is too narrow to use the fan chain—at least for my model of fan. This wasn’t an issue since I use a wall switch to control the fan, but it’s something to keep in mind if you depend on the chain for fan operation.. Anonymous. Wed Apr 01 2026

It's a beautiful fan! We bought two, one for our bedroom and one for a back room that does not get much air circulation. The glass dome is very pretty and filters the light nicely. Make sure you get smaller bulbs with lower watts, standard light bulbs do not fit within the dome and higher wattage bulbs (over 60w) produced rather harsh light. To better adapt to the changing world of light bulb technology, this control system features a CFL Auto-Detect feature that prohibits light dimming if non-dimming CFL bulbs are used in the fan. It also is our first control that eliminates dip switches and frequency interference through the use of Learning Code Synchronization. Similar to garage door programming, the fan, and control are paired together when installed with a unique pairing code automatically. To increase flexibility, this control system can be used in Indoor to Damp location environments.
