This is NOT solid wood, despite the description saying it is. I cannot really express how frustrating it was to open the kitchen and see that all the pieces except for the counter, knobs and handles are fiberboard. The counter is solid wood (plywood) probably rubberwood, which is great. But the product information here on Wayfair and on the manufacturer's website said this toy kitchen was made of solid wood and made no mention of fiberboard or engineered wood (which most toy kitchens have). Given the price point (more expensive than most toy kitchens) and materials description (says solid wood), I expected mostly plywood and maybe a couple solid wood boards (like the countertop). Instead, we now have sore throats from sorting through all the pieces and our kids are extremely disappointed. The cute little cutting board and wooden utensils are a nice touch. The salt and pepper shaker make noise when you shake them. I don’t like how the hooks move, it makes it hard to hang and get iff the utensils. Just add some play food and you are all set! Ohh and the two burner stove makes noise as well. Step by step directions were fairly easy although I did place a couple things on initially wrong (ice maker, and top with clock) which were easily fixable. Was worried I was getting close to stripping the heads off the screws that held in the ice maker but it worked out. Most difficult part was honestly the 3 knobs that get screwed on to the cardboard backdrop above the stove. It took me a bit longer than 2 hrs. More like 3 by myself but I did take a couple of breaks. Overall seems very sturdy and came together nicely.
