In addition, you have the top of the headboard to place pics and such on. Assembly did take longer than I expected but when done and set up, it looked great and she loves it. I love this bed head backrest, well fit on my bunkbed, even though this backrest is for bed frame to use. I didn’t install 2 legs on the back to hold the backrest. Great head board. Simple and classy, but not overly so. Was easy to assemble. I did most of the assembling, then my boyfriend came behind me and mounted it to the bed frame.
