This is the best mattress in I have owned in over 40 years, and at one time I sold mattresses. It is a little firm at first which is great for a heavy person that needs support. It is a very thick mattress which takes you several inches higher than most mattresses. I bought two of these for a pop-up trundle bed for guest use since it claimed to join into a king size bed. That is a different story. These mattress came vacuum-sealed and expanded to almost full size by the time I got the plastic off. The topper is nice material and can be zipped off for easy cleaning. I gave the mattresses about two days to fully expand and was surprised at how firm they are. Most "firm" mattresses are not very firm; however, I weigh just under 200lbs and I sunk in about a half-inch. It is a soft kind of firm, not a hard, cheap couch kind of firm. My wife laid on the top one and she was equally, pleasantly surprised. That says a lot, coming from her, as she has a bad hip and is very particular when it comes to mattresses. Much firmer, which at first I was not sure about, it provides a great, comfortable support for my stomach and side sleeping. Rolling around won’t wake your partner because the motion doesn’t carry. The edges are comfortable with just the right amount of additional firmness to keep you from rolling off. One of my favorite features is that the top material helps to keep me sleeping cool. It is thick, but fits my sheets with no problems. I also did not have any issues at all with off gassing smells coming from the new mattress. It is just fresh and nice.
